ഹ്യൂസ്റ്റണ്‍:അമേരിക്കയിൽ ദുരൂഹസാഹചര്യത്തിൽ മരിച്ച മൂന്നുവയസുകാറി ഇന്ത്യൻ വംശജയായ മൂന്നു വയസ്സുകാരി ഷെറിന്റെ വളർത്തമ്മ സിനി മാത്യുവിനെ പോലീസ് അറസ്റ് ചെയ്തു.
എന്നാൽ ഷെറിന്‍ മാത്യുവിന്‍റെ മരണത്തില്‍ പങ്കില്ലെന്ന് മുൻപ് മൊഴി കൊടുത്തിരുന്നു സിനി മാത്യൂസ്. മൃതദേഹം വീട്ടില്‍ നിന്നും പുറത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാന്‍ താന്‍ സഹായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലെന്നും അവര്‍ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യലില്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ഒക്ടോബർ മാസം ഏഴിന് കാണാതായ കുട്ടിയുടെ മൃതദേഹം പിന്നീട് വീടിന് സമീപമുള്ള കലുങ്കിന് അടിയില്‍ നിന്നും കണ്ടെത്തിയിരുന്നു. പാല്‍കുടിക്കാത്തതിനെത്തുടര്‍ന്ന് വളര്‍ത്തച്ഛന്‍ വെസ്ലീ മാത്യു കുട്ടിയെ പുലര്‍ച്ചെ മൂന്ന് മണിക്ക് വീടിന് പിന്നിലെ മരത്തിന്‍റെ ചുവട്ടില്‍ നിര്‍ത്തിയ ശേഷമാണ് കാണാതായത് എന്നാണ് വെസ്ലിയുടെ ആദ്യ മൊഴി നല്‍കിയിരുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍ പിന്നീട് മൃതദേഹം ലഭിച്ചശേഷം പാല്‍ ശ്വാസകോശത്തില്‍ കയറി ശ്വാസംമുട്ടിയാണ് കുട്ടി മരിച്ചതെന്നും പരിഭ്രാന്തി മൂലം മൃതദേഹം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്നും മൊഴി മാറ്റി നല്‍കുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
മണിക്കൂറുകളോളമാണ് സിനിയെ പോലീസ് ചോദ്യം ചെയ്തത്. രണ്ടു വര്‍ഷം മുമ്പാണ് എറണാകുളം സ്വദേശികളായ വെസ്ളിമാത്യുവും ഭാര്യ സിനിയും ബീഹാറിലെ ഒരു അനാഥാലയത്തില്‍ നിന്നും സരസ്വതി എന്ന കുട്ടിയെ ദത്തെടുത്തത്

The mother of a 3-year-old missing girl whose body was found last month in a drainage culvert was arrested Thursday on a charge of child endangerment/abandonment.
Sini Mathews surrendered to Richardson police Thursday and was arrested and charged with the state jail felony, her attorney Mitchell Nolte confirmed.
In a statement released Thursday, Richardson police said detectives learned Sini Mathews left her adopted 3-year-old daughter Sherin Mathews alone while she and her husband, Wesley Mathews, went to dinner with their 4-year-old biological daughter.
Richardson police said Sini Mathews is being held on $250,000 bond.Sini Mathews previously said she was sleeping Sherin disappeared and was unaware of what took place between the child and her father.
Wesley Mathews originally told police he’d ordered Sherin to stand outside by a tree at about 3:30 a.m. as punishment for not drinking her milk. When he returned, she was gone.
Wesley Mathews later changed his story, and said he “physically assisted” her drink the milk and that she choked and died. He said he then moved the girl’s body and later called police to report her missing.
Sini Mathews was in court as recently as Monday asking for custody of the couple’s 4-year-old daughter to be returned. The custody hearing was rescheduled for later in the month.
The couple’s surviving child has been in foster care since shortly after her sister’s disappearance on Oct. 7. The child was expected to be placed in the care of family in the Houston area following Monday’s hearing
