വാഷിംഗ്ടണ്‍ ഡി.സി.: ഇന്ത്യന്‍ വിസ, പാസ്‌പോര്‍ട്ട്, ഒ.സി.ഐ. കാര്‍ഡ് ഇവയുടെ വിതരണത്തെ കുറിച്ചു വ്യാപക പരാതി ഉയരുന്നതിനിടെ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ എംബസി പൊതുജനങ്ങളുടെ പരാതി കേള്‍്ക്കുന്നതിനും, പരിഹരിക്കുന്നതിനും, 2017 ജനുവരി മുതല്‍ യു.എസ്സിലെ അഞ്ചു കോണ്‍സുലേറ്റുകളില്‍ ഓപ്പന്‍ ഹൗസ് സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ അംബാസിഡര്‍ (യു.എസ്.എ.) നവജേത് സര്‍ണ അറിയിച്ചു.
മേരിലാന്റ്, വെര്‍ജിനിയ, തുടങ്ങിയ കോണ്‍സുലേറ്റുകളില്‍ ഉയര്‍ന്ന ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരായിരിക്കും പരാതി കേട്ട് പരിഹരിക്കുക എന്ന് അംബാസിഡര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. വാഷിംഗ്ടണ്‍ പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലുള്ള ഇന്ത്യന്‍ അമേരിക്കന്‍ കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റിയിലെ വിവിധ സംഘടനകളുടെ നിവേദനം പരിഗണിച്ചാണ് ഇങ്ങനെയൊരു സൗകര്യമൊരുക്കുന്നതെന്നും സര്‍ണ ചൂണ്ടികാട്ടി.
ഇന്ത്യന്‍ പാസ്‌പോര്‍ട്ട്, ഇ.വിസ, ഓ.സി.ഐ എന്നിവയെ കുറിച്ചു ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ജനതയെ ബോധവല്‍ക്കരിക്കുന്ന ദൗത്യം സാമൂഹ്യ സംഘടനകള്‍ ഏറ്റെടുക്കുന്നത് പ്രശ്‌നപരിഹാരത്തിന് വളരെ പ്രയോജനകരമായിരിക്കുമെന്നും സരണ പറഞ്ഞു. ഒ.സി.ഐ. കാര്‍ഡ് ലഭിക്കുന്നതിന് ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന കാലതാമസം കുറക്കണമെന്ന് വിവിധ സംഘടനകള്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.

It should not be an eye wash. About the recent ban of Rs:500\- and Rs:1000\- in India I think 90% of the NRIS holding the banned note normally their travel use. The consulate not discussed anything about this. 31 st Dec. 2016 is the last date as declared by Indian Government. The authority should arrange the money exchange through the authorised agency all over in USA along with the proper declaration.
