The ‘World Day of Prayer’ is an international ecumenical Christian laywomen’s initiative, under the motto “Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action,” and is celebrated annually in over 170 countries on the first Friday in March.

The movement aims to bring together women of various races, cultures and traditions in a yearly common Day of Prayer, as well as in closer fellowship, understanding and action throughout the year. Every year, worship service focuses on a different country and a specific theme. Vanuatu, a chain of islands to the east of Australia, a land prone to earthquakes, cyclones, volcanic eruptions and rising sea levels was the country selected for 2021 and the theme: ‘Build on a Strong Foundation’

The newly elected Executive Committee members of ECFNJ for the years 2021-2023 were present and took lead in organizing the WDP meeting which was a blessing to all who attended in person and virtually. We praise God that all twenty New Jersey churches joined in prayer for a common cause in spite of COVID limitations.
